A farmer has been mauled to death in western Indonesia by a rare Sumatran tiger which is also suspected of attacking five other people.
Karman Lubis was attacked while working on a rubber plantation near the Batang Gadis National Park in North Sumatra province.
Park official Yudi Santoso confirmed the 32-year-old's body was found on Tuesday less than a mile from the plantation.
The death has prompted terrified villagers to call for the animal to be killed.
The same tiger is thought have mauled five other people, as well as attacks on livestock, in the past month in Jambi province.
A farmer and four plantation workers were hospitalised with injuries in those attacks, said Nurazman Nurdin, an official with the provincial nature conservation agency.
Fearful farmers have asked authorities to shoot the tiger, which is protected by law.
The local government plans to try to trap and relocate the animal.
Indonesia is home to some 400 Sumatran tigers, which are on the brink of extinction because of deforestation, poaching and clashes with people.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, their numbers have dwindled down from about 1,000 in the 1970s.
